Valeriya Volkova
Valeriya Volkova moved from Russia to the U.S. when she was young and was raised and educated in Philadelphia and New York. Since then, the close communities of the East Coast and its relevant flatness have made her artwork naturally crowded, filled with colors and shapes, people and buildings - diverse neighborhoods growing in paint. Her work tries to create a mythology through images - an open-ended history that can evolve and expand as needed, where stories are shaped by the viewer as much as the artwork.
